Viking Twilight

Late in the evening the twilight still dominates the sky in this mid-spring view from Sweden. The big dipper is visible at the upper right and bright star Arcturus in the middle. Down on the Earth is a recently excavated grave, revealing a Viking child buried about 1000 years ago. As added by the photographer “This is the earliest known christian graveyard in Sweden.
