Twilight Aurora

With a fleet of sun-watching satellites in orbit, aurora-chasers can usually get a couple of days notice when a solar storm seems headed our way. Here the TWAN photographer was at the ready well before auroras kicked into gear above the lights of suburb Stockholm, Sweden. The strong aurora activity was bright enough to be seen in bright twilight sky. © P-M Heden
