Tracking an Eclipse

As seen on Astronomy Picture of the Day and National Geographic News, the progress of the entire lunar eclipse is documented as the moon rose above the Tihany peninsula near Lake Balaton in Hungary on 2013 April 25. Snapping a photograph every few minutes, the photographer was able to create this multi-exposure image of the moon as it glided through Earth’s shadow. © Tamas Ladanyi
