The South Celestial Pole

Looking south from the coast of Phillip Island (140 km south of Melbourne) stars trails around the south celestial pole in this long exposure image. The Large and Small Magellanic Clouds appear ghostly above the Indian Ocean. The Large and Small Magellanic Clouds stand above the Indian Ocean.
