Majestic Milky Way sets above the snowy peaks at Lake Tekapo. Lake Tekapo and McKenzie Country was designated as an International Dark Sky Reserve as part of a UNESCO-supported initiative to preserve the quality of the night sky and its cultural, scientific, or natural values.
