Description

I was on my annual Iceland photo workshop on this Sep 2021 night when a geomagnetic storm formed a couple of majestic aurora corona, or crown, the most dynamic appearance of the lights, like a starburst of changing colors and forms overhead. Although the lights appear less colorful to the eyes but the experience of seeing this is far beyond any picture. I hope this high-resolution real-time video share some of that with the viewers. The crown happens when the charged particles rain down on the atmosphere right above the observer. The video is made at ISO 51200 with 20mm 1.4 lens on Sigma FPL camera, recorded on raw format. You hear my voice at the beginning, then the music by composer Barbad Bayat; a part of a growing project to create original soundtracks for the night sky videos.
