Stupa Trails

In a dark starry night of Nepal Himalayas stars trail around the north celestial pole, caused by the Earth rotation during this 2-hour photographic exposure. The scene was recorded in late November from altitude of 3600 meters near Namche Bazaar, gateway to the Himalayan mountain range. A stupa (Buddhist religious monument) is in the foreground, located along the main trail to the Everest Base Camp.
