Description

Venus and Jupiter shine in the night sky of historic Saint Thaddeus monastery, a World Heritage Site in the northwest Iran. The beautiful planetary conjunction was an eye-catching view from all around the planet during March 2012. On the image left constellations Orion and Canis Major (marked by Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky) appear in the winter sky. The Armenian church is known as one of the oldest churches in the world. Click on the second photo to see a day-time winterscape of the church.
