Southern Constellations over New Zealand
Description
The constellations of the Southern Hemisphere sky shine over moonlit snowcapped mountains and Queenstown, New Zealand’s Lake Wakatipu and the lights Queenstown Gardens. On the left shines the familiar constellation of Orion–inverted from how it appears north of the Earth’s equator–and on the far right the famous stars of Crux, the Southern Cross. Move the slider on image to see a non-annotated image of this scene with a closer view to the south. Dennis Mammana
