Sicilian Desert Under the Stars
Description
From the photographer: “In my photographic research, I have always paid special attention to those places capable of creating parallels between Sicily and landscapes in other parts of the world. I firmly believe that this type of image prompts us to reflect on a fundamental concept: beauty knows no boundaries and can manifest itself anywhere. It is a universal trait that, at times, expresses itself in its unrepeatable uniqueness and, at other times, seems to reappear in similar forms in places far away from each other. In this way, nature reminds us that we are one people under one sky without borders.
This is precisely the feeling that the image I am proposing to you arouses in me: a shot taken in Sicily, but surprisingly similar to the desert landscapes of other areas of the planet, such as some regions of the United States. Deserts where life clings to small water springs, around which sprout sparse vegetation attempting to colonize a rocky and arid soil.”
