Description

From the photographer: “The port of Castellammare del Golfo offers an ideal setting for capturing the planetary alignment between Jupiter, the crescent moon and Venus. The reflections of the planets dance on the calm waters of the port. A port with ancient origins, already known as Emporium Segestanorum (port of Segesta) and dominated by the Norman castle, first mentioned as castrum ad mare de gulfo in the second millennium AD. In this image, the intense darkness of the waters and the sky above the castle amplifies the feeling that the entire town is suspended between the sea and the universe, while the alignment manifests itself in all its rare beauty within the constellation of Gemini between the stars Castor and Pollux.”
