Pele in the Distance
Description
Thunderstorm rages against pitch-black starry backdrop, seen from Haleakala volcanic summit on the island of Maui, Hawaii. Lightning appears in the supercell with the shelf cloud under it. In the Hawaiian mythology, Pele is the goddess of fire, lightning, wind and volcanoes and the creator of the Hawaiian Islands.
