Description

A fisheye view (fulldome) of the Milky Way in the morning twilight from altitude of 5,000 meters on Chajnantor Plateau in the Chilean Andes. On the lower left Venus and the fading zodiacal light are visible. The galaxy’s bright central bulge in Scorpius and Sagittarius is overhead. Click on the second photo to see a wider angle fisheye view of this scene with the ALMA radio telescopes in the foreground.
