Description

The North America Nebula in constellation Cygnus, a giant hydrogen cloud some 1600 light years away in the Galaxy sets above erupting Mount Etna in southern Italy. This single exposure photograph of 5 seconds using an astro-modified camera and an ultrafast telephoto lens at f1.4 reveals a surreal but true scene.
Etna is one of the world’s most active volcanoes and in an almost constant state of activity. It is the active volcanoes in Italy. In Greek Mythology, the deadly monster Typhon was trapped under this mountain by Zeus, the god of the sky and thunder and king of gods.
