Description

Sometime after midnight the dark night in begins to change. The rising moon, still invisible at my location in the forest, lights up the 3400-meter high Fitz Roy; a truly spectacular mountain in Los Glaciares National Park in Argentina, on the border with Chile.

This 5-second exposure panorama reveals how dramatic is a midnight moonrise in a naturally dark night away from light pollution. The highlight of this 13-km return hike with heavy photo gears was indeed the moonrise on the granite face of Fitz Roy.
