Description

This single-exposure image has captured the setting moon over the Arc de Triomphe (Etoile) and the well-known Champs-Elysees avenue. Click the second photo for zoomed-in view of the moon. The red lights next to the moon are the top of the towers in Île-de-France, the modern outer part of Paris. As explained by the photographer “From my calculated location over 2 km away from the Arc the moon aligned with Champs-Elysees right in the small field of view of my telephoto lens. It was quite a scene, midnight in Paris!”

    Hi Babak,
Fantastic photo of Arc de Triumphe. I have taken tens of photos using telephoto, but always had to stand on the side of the Champs-Elysees Avenue, that caused my photos to look out of symmetry, even with longer focal lengths. Possibly, very long focal length of your lens helped to compensate for that small distance from the middle of the street. Wondering if you were standing on the side of the avenue or could you take this picture standing in the middle of the Avenue?

Hello Kourosh: I was at Concorde. It was not possible to do it in the avenue.
