Meteor Shower Composite above Spain

The annual Perseids Meteor Shower in August is a remarkable event for skywatchers around the world. In this composite image many photos are digitally added to display the meteors which appeared above this northeastern Spain location during 3.5 hours. As noted by the photographer “The image is created by stacking a selection of shots taken continuously (30 seconds exposure each) with a full-frame modified DSLR camera and a fish-eye 15 mm lens, from 22:30 UT on Aug. 12 to 02:00 UT of Aug. 13. In the center of the image is the Carmanco Castle near Vilajuïga village in the province of Girona. Highlights of the image include the intense emerald green color of most shooting stars. You can see the radiant of the shower in the constellation Perseus, under the famous Double Cluster. Also featured is a very bright Perseid (a bolide) which began to explode just behind the trees (right of the castle). For moments I thought it was the headlights of a car!
