Life After Fires

The night sky appears through a full circle fisheye lens. On the Earth is a burnt forest in northern Catalonia, Spain, after severe wildfires in August 2013 that caused many damages. From the photographer: “I happened to spend the midsummer near the wildfires. The small village where me and my family spent two days was locked, no one can leave or enter. A few days later, when the fires were officially extinguished, I could get close to what were once lush forests of conifers and get pictures at night. The ground was still warm and exuded a pungent odor ash.”
