Description

In a pitch black starry night of Death Valley National Park, a car is driving downhill from a mountain vista looking towards east. The yellow glow on the horizon resembles sunrise but it is Las Vegas at midnight, from 90 miles (145 km) away! ⁣⁣Inside cities with so much light, you are enveloped in the artificial skyglow where natural night environment is gone. According to International Dark Sky Association (dark sky.org) the negative effects of this loss might seem intangible but a growing body of evidence links the brightening night sky to:⁣ 1- ⁣Increasing energy consumption⁣ 2- ⁣Disrupting the ecosystem and wildlife⁣ 3-⁣ Harming human health⁣ 4- ⁣Effecting crime and safety (negatively)⁣
Light pollution, unlike many other forms of pollution, is completely reversible. Each one of us can make a difference.
