Description

There is a world beyond our offices and apartments. To many who live under urban light pollution, the night sky became a forgotten part of nature. I hope images like this reconnect us with what we are missing in our busy city lifestyle. Filmed from a distance with a super telephoto lens the crescent moon sets behind Boston Harbor towers. Koyaanisqatsi means life out of balance in the language of Hopi Native American tribe. It’s also the name of an impressive 1982 documentary filmed by pioneer cinematographer Ron Fricke, which inspired me in teenage-hood with its message and a stunning composite shot of the moon and skyscrapers.
