As seen on National Geographic News during the 2010 Geminid meteor shower, a bright shooting star appears above the wall of this ruined Viking church still stands after a thousand winters, near the town of Vallentuna, Sweden. The landscape is illuminated by moonlight. Click on the second photo to see a composite image made of 5 photos, which has captured one Geminid meteor, all pointing backward to the shower radiant near Castor and Pollux; the two bright stars of Gemini.
