Far From Lights

The Milky Way, the Small Magellanic Cloud, and a streaking meteor are captured in this photo from Lake Tekapo in the South Island of New Zealand. The starry sky of the lake is a preserved site of UNESCO Starlight Reserve initiative; a new approach to preserve the dark sites as a World Heritage.
