Description

From the photographer: With early evening temperatures cooling rapidly in Southern California’s Anza-Borrego Desert, our intrepid total lunar eclipse campout group hovered around the toasty campfire sharing stories, S’mores and “liquid refreshment” as the full moon illuminated the wispy cirrus clouds and the surrounding desert. The eclipse was still 7-1/2 hours away, but the clouds lasted the night. By eclipse time temperatures hovered near 27F, but everyone was up to enjoy our last total lunar eclipse until 2014.
