Alborz Starry Winter

In a clear winter night the rising Moon illuminates Alborz Mountains while the winter constellations and the arc of Milky Way approach the western horizon, just above the light dome from Tehran metropolitan, some 60km away. The giant volcanic Mount Damavand (on the right) is one of the most spectacular live volcanoes on the Earth at top altitude of 5610 meters. Damavand has been a legendary mountain in Persian culture.
