Description

From the photographer: “A year ago, I took this photo just like tonight. We had gone to see the Perseus meteors in the vicinity of Ardakan and stayed up until morning. Even though we were a short distance from the city, the night sky was very beautiful. In August, the Earth, on its annual journey around the sun, reaches a place where the comet Swift-Tuttle passes, and the remaining pieces of this comet burn up upon entering the Earth’s atmosphere, creating a so-called meteor shower. Most of the meteors travel in the night sky towards the constellation Perseus. But this year, the moon is in the sky with a phase of over 60%, which means that it is not possible to see small meteors in the night sky despite the moonlight, and this year we will probably see fewer meteors. But we can still look at the night sky in the hope of bright and brilliant meteors that can be seen even with the moonlight. And spend a pleasant night with your loved ones.”
