Observatory on the Devasthal Peak

Star trails in a long-exposure telephoto image of Devasthal, in Nainital district of Uttarakhand, India. It is the highest peak in the region, a calm turbulence free place to install the current largest telescope in India. The area is surrounded by forests, dotted with small villages.
