Description

A fireball (bright meteor) streaks the sky above Lake Femund, the second largest natural lake in Norway, located in the Femundsmarka National Park. The prominent figure of the Big Dipper in Ursa Major appears above the meteor. The image is made during the September Epsilon Perseids meteor shower which is usually peaks to no more than 10 meteors per hour but in 2013 reached a ZHR of 60 meteors per hour.
