Description

Moonrise over the amphitheater of Antiphellos (ancient Kas) which was built in the first Century BC by the Lycians in the Hellenistic era. To the east lies modern Kas with all it’s bright streetlights. The bright “star” in the upper part of the image is Saturn in Leo close to it’s opposition time. Kas is a small town southwest of Antalya, lying by the Mediterranean coast. The mountains end here abruptly, representing the end of the subcontinent of Anatolia.
