Description

From the photographer: “The sight of the Milky Way Core is truly awe-inspiring. When viewed from inside a cave, it can create a deeper connection between us on Earth and the vast expanse of the sky. Using a very low light at 2%, the contrast between the Milky Way and the red rock can be highlighted without disturbing the natural darkness of the sky. The photo was shot during the new moon on April 20, 2023, when the Milky Way rises through the views of the Big Hogan on the backcountry side of the Monument Valley Tribal Park.”
