Lunar Eclipse above Alps
Description
The total lunar eclipse of 15 June 2011 as seen in the evening sky of Karwendel mountain range at the border of Germany and Austria. At this longitude the eclipse was already started at moonrise and the totally eclipsed moon was near the horizon. As noted by the photographer “The cloudy sky suddenly opened up during the period of totality and made an amazing experience on Alps. The city of Innsbruck in Austria is the cause of illumination on the clouds toward the south.”
