Description

Comet Hyakutake passed very close to Earth in March of 1996, less than two months after its discovery. It dubbed The Great Comet of 1996; its passage near the Earth was one of the closest cometary approaches of the previous 200 years. As recorded here from Dunkirk, Maryland, at the East Coast of US, Hyakutake appeared very bright in the night sky with its tail lengths of up to 80 degrees in dark skies.
