Delicate Milky Way

The star-laden plane of our home galaxy, the Milky Way, appears in the dark sky over the Arches National Park, home to over 2,000 natural sandstone arches located in Utah, United States. The park lies atop an underground salt bed, which caused the formation of the arches, sandstone fins, and enormous monoliths in the area. The starry view is captured from the famous Delicate Arch. As described by the photographer “After many years, I finally returned to Delicate Arch, perhaps Utah’s most famous landmark. The surrounding landscape is not flat ground but runs at a huge incline and there is a sheer drop to nowhere, not an easy trail at night. I got lost twice finding the arch by night, but finally I made it to this magical place know by so many for its sunset views.”
