Description

A photo composite of two exposures. Zodiacal Light as photographed from observatory site of Mount Maydanak in Uzbekistan. It is a faint, roughly triangular, whitish glow seen in the night sky which appears to extend up from the vicinity of the sun along the ecliptic or zodiac. The mystic light is produced by sunlight reflecting off dust particles which are present in the solar. As noted by the photographer “I used a special astronomical Kodak film for this image with very high sensitivity and without anti-halo layer which produced such a romantic diffuse glamour for planet Venus in Leo. I took 2 shots with very different exposures to process and combine later in Maydanak Observatory photo laboratory.”
