Astral Nexus

From the photographer: “I’ve been wanting to do a nightshot with a cloudy atmosphere for a while now so had to wait for the right moment and thought these conditions would fit the idea I had for this place. Aligned with the milkyway is a geodetic landmark in Monte Redondo, Leiria, that was rehabilitated not long ago and the autarchy also added these wooded walkways to help access the top. These landmarks are normally installed in high-altitude, isolated locations with a clear field of vision marking a cartographic position and this one is no exception, placed in 1802, this is one of the testimonies of the geological history that marks our western sedimentary region being an high location due to the rise of an igneous chimney.”
