Description

The arc of our home galaxy, the Milky Way, rises over Karapinar volcanic field in central Anatolia, Turkey. The Milky Way is framed from constellation Cassiopeia (left) over the northeast to Cygnus (the Swan) in the middle and Scorpius at the right end (south) where the band becomes brightest towards the galactic center. Artificial light of nearby towns are captured as yellow domes along the horizon. Karapinar basaltic volcanic field consists of several volcanic cones and craters which are visible here as lakes.
