Description

The brightest star of Taurus appears next to the moon after an occultation. From the photographer: “On 2015 August 9, a thick crescent Moon rose above the hills due northwest of Bursa around 0150 local summer time (GMT+3). And 5 minutes later, the bright star Aldebaran reappeared from behind the Moon.” Click the second photo to see a close-up of the pair shot simultaneously with an 8-inch telescope.
