A Summer Night on the Alps

A starry summer night in the Austrian Alps. As the last hints of the evening twilight fades (astronomical twilight) the Milky Way appears over Windebensee (Windeben Lake) in the Salzburger Lungau & Kärntner Nockberge UNESCO Biosphere reserve, also known as Nockberge National Park. Saturn, next to star Alpha Librae, is framed by the pine trees.
