A Southern View

Prominent stars of the Southern Cross (middle up) and the bright pair of Alpha and Beta Centauri appear against the Milky Way over a palm tree near Campos in northeastern Rio de Janeiro state, Brazil. Just below the Southern Cross sits the large dark nebula known as the Coalsack.
