Northern Stars above Korea National Observatory

In a moonlit night of South Korea, northern stars are captured above one of domes at the Sobaeksan National Observatory. Click on the star-pattern icon above the image to see constellation guide lines. Ursa Major with its prominent seven-star asterism called Big Dipper is at the right side. The two head stars of the dipper are the “Pointers” to Polaris or the Pole Star (brightest star of Ursa Minor). On the left Cassiopeia with its “W” figure is notable. It also has stars to point to Polaris.
