Crescent Moon Behind the Austrian Alps

The waxing crescent moon sets behind the Austrian Alps in Montafen. Thin high clouds created a colorful lunar halo, by refraction of moonlight in the clouds ice crystals. Click the second photo to see a wider angle view earlier in the evening.
