Description

The bright winter stars photographed in a moonlit night of La Palma, Canary Islands. Bright southern star Canopus is near the horizon. Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, is in the middle and constellation Orion stands above it. Click on the second photo to see a winder angle view of this scene that includes Taurus and the Pleiades star cluster. The image is made during an annual TWAN international night sky photography workshop known as the Astromaster La Palma.
