Watching Orion Arise
Description
From the photographer: “On a cold February night I had the idea to drive to the sculptor symposium – Stones on the border – The thirty-four sculptures are lined up along the border between Germany and France. This particular one is called “Sonnenbarke” from artist Zoë de L’Isle Whittier.
The photo is inspired by Gernot Meiser. The difference is that I choose Orion instead of the Moon. Sitting on the sculpture you look in direction of France with strongly illuminated villages. You can see the light pollution pretty well at the horizon.”
Technical details: F 2.2, 15″, 20mm, ISO1600, sculpture lightly lit
