Description

A photo composite of two exposures. From the photographer: “There are places in Sicily that have the ability to enchant the soul. One of these is definitely Gangi, formerly the Borgo dei Borghi of Italy. After reaching Petralia Soprana, the journey takes us through the Sicilian countryside, and nothing lets us imagine the sight that would soon present itself. Gangi in fact remains concealed until, having gone around yet another rise, our gaze opens onto a valley. In the center rises the hill on which the town was built. Even more jaw-dropping is the possibility of seeing Mount Etna rise majestically behind the village, accomplice to a day with a particularly clear sky. Meanwhile, the first rays of dawn illuminate the volcano, making its summit craters visible. Small puffs rise from them, giving rise to as many smoke rings. These grace the sky already graced by the sickle moon and the planet Venus just rising above the red clouds above on the volcano’s left slope.”
