Venus over Wiesbaden
Description
In the evening of 24 March 2009 suddenly and unexpectedly it cleared in the west after rain showers, for a few minutes the Venus crescent showed up over the ca. 40 kilometers distant Taunus mountains near Wiesbaden. On the hight the TV tower of “Hohe Wurzel” can be seen. Only three days before the inner conjunction of Venus the crescent opened to the upper right shows that Venus is located far north of the sun. Very unusual for Central European latitudes, to be able to see a crescent opened to the upper right on dusk skies. © Stephan Heinsius
