Description

In the evening sky of Sweden mountains, at Tanndalen near the border with Norway, planet Venus is photographed in conjunction with the Pleiades star cluster. The V-like figure in Taurus, that shapes the face of the Bull, is visible in the middle. It is known as the Hyades star cluster. Click on the second photo to view a closer framing of this scene. Also known as the Seven Sisters, even the brightest naked-eye Pleiades stars are over a thousand times fainter than Venus, our closest planetary neighbor.
