Trees Down
Description
A Notable Photo of the 2014 International Earth & Sky Photo Contest
From the photographer: “Finding a dark sky along the eastern seaboard of the United States is difficult, but if you can get to a beach with low overhanging trees and narrow your field of view, you can eliminate most of the light pollution. This is from Hunting Island State Park, a state park nestled between two popular vacation destinations in the sea islands area of South Carolina. A little bit of light pollution can be seen reflecting off of fast moving clouds coming in from the left (the north) which coincides with Kiawah Island Resort.”
