Description

From the photographer: “Perched atop a hill in the village of Tijara, The Tijara Fort is a classic medieval fort of Rajasthan. Featured in the photo is the spire adjacent to the Queen’s bedchamber. The women’s chambers were detached from the main palace where the king also held court as was the custom of the Rajput. The photograph is a composite of 25 images and one additional image of the illuminated foreground. Featured behind the spire is the pole star and adjacent to the window the trails of the big dipper are visible.” – © Preshanth Jagannathan
