From the photographer: “One of the few times the aurora borealis has been captured over Crater lake National Park. The International Space Station flew over just as the aurora was increasing over the lake. You can see the time-lapse video of this scene here. This image demonstrates man’s desire to experience being within the darkness, while remaining close to our earth’s embrace.”
