Description
A photo composite of multiple exposures. From the photographer: “The summer solstice of the northern hemisphere of the year 2023 in a complete picture. For this purpose, serial images of the solar discs were taken until sunset and the next morning from sunrise. The highlighted sun star documents the astronomically exact solstice point at 16:57 CEST. Later the narrow crescent moon and our inner neighbor planet Venus appeared in the evening sky. The landscape panorama was created from 11 vertical images at the time of nautical twilight, when the sun reached its nadir at 1:10 CEST on June 22 and was 12°15′ below the horizon. The sentinel stones in the foreground were artificially brightened with a flashlight. The northern sky is naturally brightened because astronomical twilight is not reached at this location (Stone grave Nobbin, island Rügen, northern Germany) on the summer solstice. The total duration of the exposure is 17 hours.”
