Thoughts While Traveling at Night
Our ancestors were much closer to the night sky than we are. The ancient Chinese made countless references to celestial objects such as the sun, the moon, and the Milky way in form of poetry.
As added by the photographer: “I try to follow the scene that our ancestor did. Pictured above is the Milky Way at moonset over Lake Manasarovar, a scene that is inspired by one of the most famous Chinese poems, Thoughts While Traveling at Night, written by the famed poet Dufu in Tang dynasty (Year 712-770)”. © Jeff Dai
